Définition — Compact élémentaire
On appelle compact élémentaire toute partie K ⊂ R 2 {\displaystyle K\subset \mathbb {R} ^{2}} tel qu’il existe ϕ 1 , ϕ 2 : [ a , b ] → R {\displaystyle \phi _{1},\phi _{2}:[a,b]\rightarrow \mathbb {R} } , et ψ 1 , ψ 2 : [ c , d ] → R {\displaystyle \psi _{1},\psi _{2}:[c,d]\rightarrow \mathbb {R} } , vérifiant :
K = { ( x , y ) ∈ R 2 , a ≤ x ≤ b e t ϕ 1 ( x ) ≤ y ≤ ϕ 2 ( x ) } = { ( x , y ) ∈ R 2 , c ≤ y ≤ d e t ψ 1 ( y ) ≤ x ≤ ψ 2 ( y ) } {\displaystyle {\begin{aligned}K&=\{(x,y)\in \mathbb {R} ^{2},a\leq x\leq b\ {\rm {{et}\ \phi _{1}(x)\leq y\leq \phi _{2}(x)\}}}\\&=\{(x,y)\in \mathbb {R} ^{2},c\leq y\leq d\ {\rm {{et}\ \psi _{1}(y)\leq x\leq \psi _{2}(y)\}}}\end{aligned}}} .
Définition — Compact simple
On appelle compact simple toute réunion de compacts élémentaires ( K i ) i ∈ I {\displaystyle (K_{i})_{i\in I}} d'intérieurs deux à deux disjoints :
∀ i ≠ j , K i ∘ ∩ K j ∘ = ∅ {\displaystyle \forall i\neq j,{\stackrel {\ \circ }{K_{i}}}\cap {\stackrel {\ \circ }{K_{j}}}=\emptyset } .

Soit U {\displaystyle {\mathcal {U}}} un ouvert de R 2 {\displaystyle \mathbb {R} ^{2}} et ϕ : ( u , v ) → ( x , y ) {\displaystyle \phi :(u,v)\rightarrow (x,y)} une injection C 1 {\displaystyle {\mathcal {C}}^{1}} de U {\displaystyle {\mathcal {U}}} dans R 2 {\displaystyle \mathbb {R} ^{2}} . En notant son jacobien :
D ( x , y ) D ( u , v ) = | ∂ x ∂ u ∂ x ∂ v ∂ y ∂ u ∂ y ∂ v | {\displaystyle {\frac {D(x,y)}{D(u,v)}}={\begin{vmatrix}{\dfrac {\partial x}{\partial u}}&&{\dfrac {\partial x}{\partial v}}\\{\dfrac {\partial y}{\partial u}}&&{\dfrac {\partial y}{\partial v}}\end{vmatrix}}} il vient alors, pour f : ϕ ( U ) → K {\displaystyle f:\phi (U)\to \mathbb {K} } :
∬ ϕ ( U ) f ( x , y ) d x d y = ∬ U f ( ϕ ( u , v ) ) | D ( x , y ) D ( u , v ) | d u d v {\displaystyle \iint _{\phi (U)}f(x,y)\,\mathrm {d} x\,\mathrm {d} y=\iint _{U}f(\phi (u,v))\left|{\frac {D(x,y)}{D(u,v)}}\right|\,\mathrm {d} u\,\mathrm {d} v} .Cas des cordonnées polaires

Proposition
Pour D {\displaystyle D} un compact simple de R + × [ 0 , 2 π [ {\displaystyle \mathbb {R} _{+}\times \left[0,2\pi \right[} tel que Δ = ϕ ( D ) {\displaystyle \Delta =\phi (D)} soit un compact simple, et f : Δ → K {\displaystyle f:\Delta \to \mathbb {K} } continue. Alors :
∬ Δ f ( x , y ) d x d y = ∬ D f ( r cos θ , r sin θ ) r d r d θ {\displaystyle \iint _{\Delta }f(x,y)\,\mathrm {d} x\,\mathrm {d} y=\iint _{D}f(r\cos \theta ,r\sin \theta )\,r\,\mathrm {d} r\,\mathrm {d} \theta } .
